We're planning to do the 2017 Tucson Audubon Birdathon fundraising event on two wheels on Saturday May 6! We'll take a route from the Sonoran Desert at the base of Mount Lemmon to the fir forests above Summerhaven. In our previous attempt in 2012 (as Team BirdnBike) we tallied 79 species but have our sights set on something higher this year. Please consider supporting us in our quest this year to raise money for Tucson Audubon's great programs.
**Due to weather conditions- we've changed our planned route. We're starting Friday night at Lakeside Park, heading to Saguaro N.P. for nightbirds, and then resting at home until Saturday morning. Early start to beat some of the strong winds and we hope to make it to Bear Canyon before heading into the wind across Tucson to Sweetwater and possibly a couple other stops.
Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for 30 years!
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
