Hello Wrenegades supporters! And welcome to Birdathon 2017!
This is Tucson Audubon's 30th Birdathon, so I am expecting big things!
Team Wrenegades is back again to defend its title and hopefully set another new big day team record. We're going out May 1 on our grand adventure sailing the desert seas and exploring the Sky Islands !
This is Tucson Audubon’s big fundraiser, and it’s also loads of fun and gets me out of the office! There are so many reasons to support us this year, here are just a few:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo surveys to help expand critical habitat designations for this threatened bird- Nest box programs for Lucy’s Warblers, Azure Bluebirds, Screech Owls, and Ash-throated Flycatchers
- Elegant Trogon and Bendire’s Thrasher surveys helped document these species’ populations
- 3 new Important Bird Areas established
- 187 species documented in our Tucson Bird Count
- Habitat at Home program transforming people’s yards
- Reached about 6000 people through our field trips, classes and events
- Continuous advocacy on a number of local issues
Tucson Audubon really is helping the birds and people of southeast Arizona!

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for 30 years!
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
