463 species have been reported by birders in Cochise County, Arizona, according to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's eBird database. In support of Tucson Audubon Society's work in the San Pedro River Valley and Audubon activities throughout Cochise County, 4 intrepid birders--Luke Safford, Ken Blankenship, Ron Beck, and Jonathan Lutz--will devote 24 hours on Monday, April 9, to searching for and recording as many bird species as possible. From warblers to waders, and raptors to roadrunners, the team will be identifying birds by sight and sound with the ultimate goal of tallying as many Cochise County birds as we can find.
The Cochiseballs need your help! The team is seeking your support in the form of per species pledges or flat amount donations. All funds raised will be used to support Tucson Audubon Society's work in Cochise County and beyond.

During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation. Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years! Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
