Join Luke Safford of Tucson Audubon and the Sweetwater Junkies team for a Big Day
Wednesday, April 17th, 6 am - 11:30 am
Fundraising minimum: $50 per Participant
Come bird our favorite urban hotspot, Sweetwater Wetlands, where we can expect to find 60+ species in one morning. We'll start earlier than the usual Wednesday morning bird walk and meet at the wetlands parking area at 6am, and then we'll bird the wetlands and adjoining river path until 11:30am. Migration will be in full gear and we should find some lingering wintering birds as well. Birders of all experience levels welcome. If you are a regular Sweetwater field trip attender this is a great opportunity to break free from the big crowd of participants as well as raise some money for a worthy cause. Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!
